Matthew Dickens is the creator and producer of ‘Sunday Night at Kirbys’. He most recently completed work in the filming of Dreamworks’ DREAMGIRLS. He also appears in the movie RENT as an actor and singer. Dickens is also credited as the Choreographer for The Aviator, directed by Martin Scorcese. Dickens performed on Broadway for over 8 years, including the shows Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Smokey Joe’s Café, Dreamgirls and Stephen King’s Carrie. For six seasons he has worked as Director/Choreographer of the Royal Dutch Air Force Orchestra creating original productions that toured Holland Belgium and France. Also in Europe he worked as Director/Choreographer staging large stadium events for television, including Euro 2000 and the National Wedding Event 2002 for the future King of the Netherlands (which featured over 1000 musicians, 300 dancers and some of the top Dutch acts in the recording business). Television appearances include Their Eyes Were Watching God, Lackawanna Blues, The West Wing, Quantum Leap, A Different World, In Living Color, the Academy Awards, and several national commercials.
